Fragiles – Les Roses Noires – Les Petits Formats

 650,00

2021 Part of the Fragiles series, this intimate work explores the quiet beauty of imperfection, memory and transformation. Delicate layers of Japanese washi are combined with acrylic and hand-applied reclaimed cotton thread, creating a subtle dialogue between fragility and resilience. The thread used in this work originates from my family's former textile factory in Eeklo, Belgium. By reintroducing these materials into a contemporary context, the work carries fragments of personal and collective history, allowing past craftsmanship to find a new expression. Drawing on my background in the conservation of works on paper, each material is chosen for its tactile qualities and its ability to preserve traces of time. The result is a contemplative composition in which paper, thread and gesture invite a slower way of looking.
